Right. Today is the first day of the rest of my life. Or maybe yesterday was. Because it was the day I began my healthy living regimen again!
I've done this before. I started in October when I'd given up drinking for a month. Not the easiest month for me, but I was doing it to raise funds for a very close friend who had just been diagnosed with stage 4 bowel cancer. Mixing the non-drinking with giving up everything that seemed fun to eat/drink worked well and I lost 8kgs. Hurray for me!

Christmas parties
Christmas
New Years
My Brisbane Birthday
My Sydney Birthday
My friend passed away......
And just about every other excuse that you could think of!
Yesterday I braved the scales again for the first time since my birthday and discovered I had put 4 of those kilos back on! Not as bad as it could have been but certainly not where I wanted to be. So now it is on - or more importantly off!
So you've heard it here first - I solemnly swear to lose 20kgs before I head on my overseas trip on October 1st. That's still 6 months away - totally do-able! And if I lose more, even better!
So the rules for my friends are - support me, but please don't nag/judge me. Nagging me serves only to make me want to eat cupcakes! And that's a temptation that is fair too great on the best of days!
